We have an open position in statistical machine learning and signal processing for smartphone accelerometry, gyro, magnetometer and other sensor data, captured from Parkinson's patients in the Apple ResearchKit-based mPower and other smartphone-based studies. The goal is to develop algorithms to process and analyze the very large amount of time series data collected in these studies, to create clinically-meaningful outputs. Please do feel free to contact me for further details.
Joining my research group
I am always looking for talented, dedicated and friendly individuals to join my research group. This can be done at a variety of levels: PhD student, postdoctoral research assistant, postdoctoral fellow or professor. We have funding for some of these positions, but we are also impressed if you bring your own funding. At PhD level, there are many international scholarships available, such as the Commonwealth Scholarships. At postdoc level, there are great opportunities such as the EPSRC Fellowships EU Marie Curie Actions Fellowship for Researchers Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowships, and Sir Henry Wellcome Postdoctoral Fellowships. Get in touch to discuss any of these.
Note that as a rule, I do not host short-term (i.e. summer) visiting student interns because there is simply not enough time to get tangible results to make the joint commitment worthwhile. As with all rules, I am willing to consider an exception under the right circumstances.
